Goodbye 2017 and Hello 2018

I can't believe it has been a year since I started this blog. I have loved doing it and have read so many fun books this year and have connected with so many fun people and authors. Thanks to those who have read my reviews and hopefully you've found some cute books to read. I look forward to continuing this journey in 2018 and I can't wait for all the fun books I have to read. I wish you all the best in the New Year!

More Trouble in Loveland by Jennifer Peel

Synopsis:

Charlee Jensen-Carter has been looking forward to her first Christmas with her new husband, Ryan, and her adorable stepson for weeks. Not only is her dad tying the knot, but she’s looking forward to two weeks of no exes, no drama, and especially no trouble. At least that’s what she thinks.
First, she gets talked into wearing red hooker heels again. Next, she finds herself trying to save her dad’s wedding. And if that isn’t bad enough, more than one ex shows up, and she's suddenly in the middle of more trouble than she ever bargained for.
Will she ever find the right moment to give Ryan the best Christmas present ever? Or will her Christmas hopes and dreams die a fiery death in this comical holiday tale?

Review:
This was a little different than the usual clean romance books I usually read. This was a funny book about newlyweds, Charlee and Ryan, and their crazy family, friends and exes at Christmastime. I haven't read the first book, Trouble in Loveland, but I feel like Jennifer did I great job with the back story so you don't feel lost but it did make me want to read their love story in the first one. Charlee lives quite the busy hectic life and her wittiness makes it funny! I love her relationship with her hubby Ryan (which is great name for a hubby ;)) and Josh her step-son. I loved the real life feel to the book and that it had me laughing and relating to it.

How to Design Love by Cami Checketts

Synopsis:

Forced to fake a marriage, Brikelle must decide if she can love a beastly dog, and his handsome owner. Attacked as a child, Brikelle Manwaring is terrified of dogs. When Colt Jepson's huge Great Dane chases her up a canyon, she tells him off and prays she'll never see either of them again.
When Colt and Brikelle are forced to pretend they are married, Colt discovers there’s more to Brikelle than a feisty beauty who likes to tell him off.
Their deception grows until neither of them are sure what is reality and what is fiction. The only thing they know is if they don’t tell the truth soon, they might lose their careers and any chance to be together. Can Brikelle ever learn to love a beastly dog, or his owner?

Review:

Brikelle is not a fan of dogs ok she's not just not a fan she HATES them. As she went for a run she was chased by a huge dog... I have to say I would have reacted just like Brikelle. Little does she know that that huge dog would change her life forever. Brikelle got the job of decorating a home that could help in getting a lot more jobs and boost her career and when she got there... there was the owner of that big dog also working on the house. Ooo La La...the home owner thought that they were a couple... a married couple...due to their interaction and oh boy the sparks started flying. I love their interaction through out the book. Colt is such a gentleman but does feel bad about their physical contact without really knowing Brikelle but they just can't deny their chemistry and their interest in each other. This was a funny, cute, and swoon worthy book. I loved Brikelle and Colt.

The Christmas Groom by Taylor Hart

Synopsis:

Nathan Pennington, aka billionaire attorney, had only one idea on his mind the week before Christmas…forget about the past year and enjoy the beautiful Park City ski slopes. His plan was working, until some annoying ski bunny sprayed snow in his face. Her rudeness wasn’t something he could let slide. Nathan chases the woman down the hill intent on chewing her out, but when face-to-face, he’s struck by the vulnerability and anger in her eyes.
Storm Goodman has heard every weather joke in the book—and she’s not in the mood for another. Lately her life has lived up to her name. After a year of personal setbacks in her skiing career and her grandfather passing, she thought the worst of it was over until Four days before Christmas her lawyer tells her she can’t inherit the ranch her grandfather left her—unless she’s married by noon on Christmas day. Good thing she has a guy to marry—too bad he’s also the same guy who cheated on her last year. She’ll have to put up with him if she wants to keep the land from being turned over to the BLM.
When a mysterious guy shows up, chewing her out for spraying snow on him, she never would have imagined she’d end up on a date with him. Or kiss him! Why does her life have such rotten timing? After night skiing, soaking in the hot tub, and dancing at an old folk’s home, Storm begins to wonder if she can really go through with the marriage to her ex.
Now she and Nathan are faced with a choice—walk away or let the timing of love sync up once and for all.

Review:

A Christmas romance set in Park City with a hot billionaire... yes please! Another fabulous read by Taylor Hart. I love her writing and I never want to put her books down. Nathan was on vacation in Park City enjoying some skiing when he was sprayed in the face on the slopes, so he was on a mission to confront her. Storm has a lot on her plate. She is trying to get her own business up and running and if she wants to keep her family's ranch she has to get married on Christmas. When Nathan confronts her sparks fly and Nathan does what he can to spend more time with her. As they get to know each other Nathan wants to help her with all that's going on and... well you'll have to read it. It was another great holiday clean romance... the best kind. If you love cheesy hallmark movies like me... you'll like this!

How to Kiss a Billionaire by Cami Checketts

Synopsis:

Miriam Salisbury escapes to Oregon to avoid a boyfriend who won't take no for an answer, killing her beloved cat to prove it. When her father sends Clay Browning to protect her, she's certain he's lost his mind. As far as she's concerned Clay's experience is limited to posing for the camera, charming women, and making fun of her. He's been teasing her since they were children and she's never gotten over the way he threw crawdads at her at church picnics.
Clay retired from the military and entered the world of private security. When he gets the call to protect Miriam he's excited to be around his lifelong crush. As expected, he teases her nonstop and the only thing he takes seriously is her security. He knows she'd never give him a chance and he can't help but give her a hard time.
After Miriam is dumped in the freezing ocean on a crabbing expedition and Clay saves her from drowning and freezing to death, she takes a second look at her hired gun. But opening up to him is more terrifying than facing her stalker.
As events escalate to a frenzied climax, Miriam and Clay must put aside past grudges in the hope of finding a lasting love for their future.

Review:

This is a story of a long time love that finally got a chance. Clay has always been in love with Miriam but thought that they would just always be friends when her father contacted him to go find and protect her. Miriam is surprised when Clay showed up and was grateful to have him around. Clay was still the usual tease that he has always been to her but they had a good time and he was such a gentleman. With some steamy clean scenes and lots of back and forth you just wish they would clear things up so they would know what each other were thinking... And kiss!! It made for a romantic read with a humorous side and suspense to top it off. Christmas was mentioned but I wish it was a little more Christmasy... what can I say I love Christmas! :)
