Synopsis:

Melody de Lyon's cozy New Orleans bookstore is her pride and joy- until a violent hurricane sweeps it all away. Forced to flee the storm by boat with her ailing grandmother, she wonders how she will ever pick up the pieces of this disaster.
Then, in a fevered state, her grandmother utters a cryptic message that sets Melody on the quest of a lifetime: "Go to White Castle." With nothing left to lose, Melody seeks out the old mansion- a beautiful Southern relic haunted by secrets. Once there, she finds Britt Mandeville, the handsome and charming White Castle caretaker.
Fireworks erupt between them and Melody's attraction is stronger than she's ever experienced with a man before, but any hopes of a relationship between them are dashed when she discovers that Britt is already engaged to another woman.
When Melody stumbles across a strange 60-year-old photograph in the house, she is determined to find answers- and the shocking revelations and strange twists of fate lead her right back to Britt.
Can she put all the pieces of the puzzle together, or will family secrets and true love be lost to her forever?

Review:

This was a wonderfully written and very captivating book. It had me from the beginning all the way to the last page. I love that it is a contemporary romance but with a lot of history throughout the book. Melody and her sick grandmother were in a terrible hurricane and lost just about everything. When Melody was leaving her grandma in the hospital she told her to "go to White Castle" so she searched it out and headed to this amazing southern plantation which was not what she expected and little did she know her life was going to change forever. Britt is such a southern gentleman who has a girlfriend turned fiancé and ex fiancé real quick. You quickly realize you are not a fan of her. When he and Melody meet at White Castle sparks fly real quick and a twist with the ex fiancé happens. I was not expecting that!! The development and chemistry of the characters, the beautiful setting, and the storyline made for an excellent and very intriguing book.

The Mafia's Secret by Kimberley Montpetit

Synopsis:

Anna Hamilton drops out of grad school to go back home to small-town Hartland Cove because she’s dead broke and her widowed father has received a devastating diagnosis. Working as a tour guide for the whale ship, Jewel of the Ocean, is the perfect job for a girl with a degree in marine biology, but at this rate, she’ll never get back to finishing her PhD.
Meanwhile, socialite Elise Kensington, Anna's best friend from college, begs Anna to find her a job where she can hide off the grid. Turns out Elise’s fiancé is an heir to the Mafia but wants no part of the family “business”. The plan is to run-away and elope, before they find themselves the victims of an “accidental” death.
Anna’s hometown is filled with sightings of gorgeous Hollywood scouts, Mafia heirs on the run, and strangers with amnesia. Unwittingly, Anna finds herself attracted to the bachelors—including Chad Garrett, the boy next door, who has suddenly gone from skinny teen to model gorgeous.

Review:

This was an intriguing, suspenseful and swoon worthy book. Like the other books in this series once again I love the setting of this book and found myself intrigued again with the small town and wanting to visit. I love the beach, ocean and cute coastal towns! I also liked the uniqueness of the characters. At the very beginning Anna runs into Micheal and you find yourself hoping that a connection will form between Anna and this handsome man. You meet Anna's best friend Elise who is quite eccentric and wonder how they are so close. I also loved the friendship Anna had with her neighbor Chad. All these people are important in this book and what happens towards the end of the book is quite surprising and not what I thought would happen.
This book and storyline are packed with a bit of everything and definitely kept you guessing throughout the book and all the way to the end. It has quite the ending and I am glad to say I am happy with how it ended. It was another good one by Kimberley.

Unfortunately, Caleb hasn’t stopped thinking about Kira Bancroft since high school. But after ten years, she’s probably living her dream as a concert pianist in New York City. Until one evening, fresh off the plane from Hong Kong, he gets the shock of his life when he runs into Kira waitressing at a local Denver restaurant.
Kira’s life hasn’t gone exactly how she hoped. After a terrible accident that disabled her father, Kira’s dream of being on stage with her beloved piano and a symphony orchestra is abandoned to help her parents pay the overwhelming medical bills, even losing their home to bankruptcy.
When sparks fly between her and Caleb at their high school reunion, she starts to hope that maybe she can dream again. But Caleb is keeping a secret that could ruin everything.

Review:

If you are in the mood for an emotional and swoon worthy contemporary romance this is a great one! Caleb is a gentleman that is hardworking and worked his way through a rough childhood to own his own company and become a billionaire. I like how he is not a snobby billionaire but very kind and caring. Kira left her dreams behind to take care of her parents and to help make ends meet. She is also a hard worker and you wish she could catch a break. I loved the storyline and the emotional aspects of the book. The chemistry between Caleb and Kira is undeniable and you find yourself cheering them on hoping for that happily ever after. I really enjoyed this book and hope there will be more in this series.

The Neighbor's Secret by Kimberley Montpetit

Synopsis:

An intruder with an alias and old ties to Heartland Cove.
Forced by unusual circumstances to share the same rental house, Allie's suspicions of the man grow- even as she finds herself attracted to him. But is Ethan Smith merely a freelancer on a magazine assignment taking photos of the famous Heartland Cove Bridge- or is he an undercover spy for the mayor who wants to ruin the charming town by running a new highway through for his own profit?
Is Ethan Smith friend or foe? Enemy or lover?

Review:

This is about a girl named Allie who was left at the altar, so she left where she was living to go back to her hometown to take a break and recover. She meets a very handsome guy named Ethan and under unusual circumstances they are "neighbor's." He is very kind, giving, and definitely a gentleman. I understand that she would be very upset and heart broken but she was a little too grouchy. She was a bit of a brat at first. They both kept secrets and as the story unfolds those secrets are shared. Ethan and Allie had strong chemistry throughout the book. There are some twists and things that happen with the ex fiance that keep you reading. Just a little warning that there are some swear words, and some steamy kisses and scenes. There were a couple editing things that were a little weird. Overall I liked this book and I look forward to reading more by Kimberley.
