A Bride for the Bronc Rider by Liz Isaacson

Synopsis:

Ted Caldwell has been a retired bronc rider for years, and he thought he was perfectly happy training horses to buck at Brush Creek Ranch. He was wrong.
When he meets April Nox, who comes to the ranch to hide her pregnancy from all her friends back in Jackson Hole, Ted realizes he has a huge family-shaped hole in his life. April is embarrassed, heartbroken, and trying to find her extinguished faith. She's never ridden a horse and wants nothing to do with a cowboy ever again.
But as she and Ted spend more time together, she begins to question her decision to put her baby up for adoption. Can Ted and April create a family of happiness and love from a tragedy?

Review:

This was a great book about looking past tragedies and not being scared for the future. Ted is a retired bronc rider that works at Brush Creek and he is happy and content with his life until he meets April who came to Brush Creek to get away. Their circumstances are unique and I was a little surprised by how quickly the relationship blossomed. But I love that Ted was there for April and didn't let that she was pregnant get in the way. It was a story of forgiveness and love. They were drawn to each other and the chemistry was there. It's another short and quick read so there are some time jumps so I do wish it could have been longer with more details. I guess that's a good thing right?! I just wanted more of the book! But these short and sweet love stories in this Brush Creek Bride series are all so great! I love how the characters life struggles in each book are so different but that they all turn to God for some help and they get their
Happily Ever After.

The Executive's Secret by Kimberley Montpetit

Synopsis:

Caleb Davenport has spent the last decade building an international company into a billion-dollar enterprise with his business partners. Traveling constantly around the world, he’s lonely and ready to settle down with the woman of his dreams.
Unfortunately, Caleb hasn’t stopped thinking about Kira Bancroft since high school. But after ten years, she’s probably living her dream as a concert pianist in New York City. Until one evening, fresh off the plane from Hong Kong, he gets the shock of his life when he runs into Kira waitressing at a local Denver restaurant.
Kira’s life hasn’t gone exactly how she hoped. After a terrible accident that disabled her father, Kira’s dream of being on stage with her beloved piano and a symphony orchestra is abandoned to help her parents pay the overwhelming medical bills, even losing their home to bankruptcy.
When sparks fly between her and Caleb at their high school reunion, she starts to hope that maybe she can dream again. But Caleb is keeping a secret that could ruin everything.

Review:

If you are in the mood for an emotional and swoon worthy contemporary romance this is a great one! Caleb is a gentleman that is hardworking and worked his way through a rough childhood to own his own company and become a billionaire. I like how he is not a snobby billionaire but very kind and caring. Kira left her dreams behind to take care of her parents and to help make ends meet. She is also a hard worker and you wish she could catch a break. I loved the storyline and the emotional aspects of the book. The chemistry between Caleb and Kira is undeniable and you find yourself cheering them on hoping for that happily ever after. I really enjoyed this book and hope there will be more in this series.

A Player For Christmas by Taylor Hart

Synopsis:

Brooks Stone, wide receiver for the Miami Surf, isn’t the type of guy to make dreams come true; he’s too busy dealing with a high ankle sprain and the anniversary of his wife’s death.
Callie Given, a cancer patient at Primary Children’s Hospital, only has one wish for Christmas—dinner with Brooks Stone. He flatly refuses, until Sam Dumont threatens to make sure the coaches bench him if he doesn’t comply.
Ana Given thought fighting for her daughter’s life was enough of a challenge. She never expected famous football player Brooks Stone to actually show up. If he was a friend of her ex-husband, he’s definitely not someone she wants hanging around her daughter. Good thing she sends him away. Too bad her daughter sees him before he can leave.
When Brooks and Ana find themselves on a quest to find Callie’s father, neither would have imagined getting on a plane together, going to a cage fight, or…kissing. Brooks wonders how these two women have become everything to him in less than seventy-two hours. Now he has to make a decision—get what he wanted for Christmas or become the player he was always meant to be.

Reviews:

I am a Christmas girl so of course I had to celebrate Christmas in July. I really enjoyed this book about a star football player that visits a cute but sick little girl in the hospital and changes his life for the better. This book happens around Christmas time but it's not too Christmasy. I don't like the Brooks at the beginning of the book but who he becomes at the end of the book is great. Serving those around you can lead to a happy life. This is a cute, heartwarming, and quick read that will put you in the holiday spirit and you just may shed a tear. I like books about famous people that meet everyday people so I'm excited to read more in this series.

A Companion for the Cowboy by Liz Isaacson

Synopsis:

Cowboy and professional roper Justin Jackman has found solitude at Brush Creek Horse Ranch, preferring his time with the animals he trains over dating. With two failed engagements in his past, he's not really interested in getting his heart stomped on again. But when flirty and fun Renee Martin picks him up at a church ice cream bar--on a bet, no less--he finds himself more than just a little interested.
Renee's living with her cousin in Brush Creek, having just graduated from college. She's not ready to be an adult, has no idea what she wants to do for a career, and generally wishes everyone would just let her figure things out.  She starts working for Dinosaur National Park, which has an hour-long commute that she spends thinking about Justin. With a decade separating their ages, she comes to realize that they're from different generations.
His Gen-X attitudes are attractive to her; her Millennial behaviors drive him nuts. Can Justin look past their differences and take a chance on another engagement? And if he does, will Renee be mature enough and ready for a serious relationship? Justin and Renee will have to figure out how to pray and how to listen to God to find a way to their happily-ever-after.

Review:

It may only be the second Brush Creek Bride book that I have read but I have already decided that I am loving this new series. Liz is doing a great job (as usual) writing these novella's and I love that they are so different but of course connected at the same time. They are also page turner's and draw you in so it makes them very quick reads.
Justin has been heart broken and doesn't really believe in love or want to get involved with anyone. He is just keeping himself busy working at the ranch. But when he meets Renee he is drawn to her but doesn't want anything to do with her because of her cousin that he knows. Renee goes for it and they hit it off even though they have a big age difference. I loved this story about swallowing your pride and not letting a good thing go. I loved the details of their relationship based on their generations. It also makes you realize how attached to our phones we are and that we need to turn them off and focus on our personal relationships. This was a fun read about a relationship in today's world.

Lovers' Quarrel by Jessica L. Randall

Synopsis:

True Love might be on the air!
Lovers' Quarrel is one of the hottest radio programs around, and Karina Kruz is the reason why. Fueled by her own secrets, Karina has dedicated herself to ridding the city of infidelity one call at a time. But she may have met her match when she crosses Ben Adler, who loses his girlfriend and budding career thanks to the show. When Ben tries to redeem himself, he and Karina make a wager that will end up pitting the two of them against each other over the air in Ben's own hometown. But with Karina stirring things up, the good people of Willow Grove aren't the only ones in danger of falling in love.

Review:

This was a fun and flirty romantic comedy with a unique story line. Karina is a radio DJ with her own radio show that helps others in their relationships...kind of in a surprising way. Ben is a wedding planner that just got dumped on the radio and his life kind of turned upside down thanks to Karina's radio show. A bet is made and Karina heads to Ben's small hometown to find out dirt on Ben. This small town has its quirks and everyone loves Ben and his family. Karina and Ben are very different and pretty much hate each other but are also drawn to each other at the same time. Love may not always turn out how you think or hope it will but don't let something great go.
